  • from gammyjill -- TOP 500 REVIEWER : Best book so far… ( 5.0 out of 5 stars )
  • from Elisa 20Top Contributor: Health & Wellness -- TOP 500 REVIEWERVINE VOICE : A nation in "Peril" == we still haven't thought enough about what that meant/means ( 5.0 out of 5 stars )
  • 1.0 out of 5 stars from Debra M. -- If I could burn this book without ruining my phone, I would. Don't buy it. : Bob Woodward is making big money with his lies and half truths just like every other book he's written. I'll never buy anything with his name on it again. ( Reviewed in the United States on September 21, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Robert F. -- Impactful and a lesson : Exceptional read. I finished the book in 4 hours. Exceptional reporting and a scary look at what Donald Trump tried to do and ultimately failed. We might not be so lucky next time. ( Reviewed in the United States on September 21, 2021 )
  • from C -- TOP 50 REVIEWER : Behind-the-scenes look at interactions between political and military leaders ( 4.0 out of 5 stars )
  • 1.0 out of 5 stars from John -- More Woodward Tripe : The content of the book is a complete liberal hack job on President Trump. The book should be listed in Fantasy or Liberalism for Dummies. ( Reviewed in the United States on September 21, 2021 )
  • 1.0 out of 5 stars from Philip C Gossett III -- Partisan bologna! : I have read many of Woodward's books. He used to really be great at pulling out the real story. This book is like the last few, very partisan. So who is really lying here? Roll the dice. Bottom line, no real truth or talk of the great things Trump did for the nation. All political spin. Just watch MSNBC for support. ( Reviewed in the United States on September 21, 2021 )
  • 1.0 out of 5 stars from Kath Gray -- Dont waste yr money : Embarrassingly lightweight for the most part. ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on September 23, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Philip M -- Tale of frightening events in the run-up, during and after the US 2020 election : Woodward has created another extraordinary insight into the life of the US presidency under Trump and following his election defeat. Once again, he records extracts from genuine memos, Senate reports, meetings, interviews and conversations with the most senior people in federal and state governments and the US military. “Peril” is the story of a truly frightening and scary period in modern history and will probably be studied by historians for many years to come. ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 17, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Amazon Customer -- A rivetting read : A lot of the events in the book have been written elsewhere. ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 7, 2021 )
  • 2.0 out of 5 stars from Evelyn W -- Heavily biased whitewash : Although well-written Woodward's right leaning sympathies spoil this book making some of the narrative seem unfamiliar to those who watch anything but right-wing media. And some of the omissions are inexcusable. Don't expect the promised 'shocking truths'. The Jan 6 events and the period until the inauguration are lent a milky haze which would leave readers in future generations wondering why the incident shocked people worldwide and bears no resemblance to the bodycam footage. It doesn't hold a patch to 'I alone can fix it' by Carol Leonnig. As in his previous books, the writer is clearly protecting his republican sources in hope of another over-priced book. ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 28, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from David Rostance -- A insight into the lies of Donald Trump : Bob Woodward And Robert Costa have written a masterpiece. Looking at Trumps desperate attempts to stay in power that came to a head on January 6th with the insurrection. Superbly researched this book is well recommended ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on September 23, 2021 )
